Blizzard Acquire Kurtis Kinoshita from Dauphin in Exchange for Renat Nahnieiev

THE PAS, MB – The Northern Manitoba Blizzard have acquired 2006-born forward Kurtis Kinoshita from the Dauphin Kings in exchange for 2006-born forward Renat Nahnieiev, the organization announced Tuesday. The transaction adds another forward to the Blizzard lineup as the team continues its push through the 2026-27 Manitoba Junior Hockey League (MJHL) season.

Kinoshita, a 2006-born forward from Revelstoke, British Columbia, heads to Northern Manitoba with MJHL experience and an opportunity to contribute to the Blizzard’s forward group. The 6-foot, 183-pound forward recorded 2 goals and 8 assists for 10 points in 19 games with Dauphin during the 2025-26 regular season.

Through the early portion of the 2026-27 campaign, the Blizzard have compiled a 6-8-0 record, while the Kings sit at 5-6-2. Both clubs continue to navigate the competitive MGEU West Division as they work to build momentum heading deeper into the season.

Nahnieiev heads to Dauphin after making an impact in Northern Manitoba. The 2006-born forward recorded 3 goals and 7 assists for 10 points in 12 games with the Blizzard this season, providing offensive production as the team worked to establish itself in the early standings.

The move gives both organizations an opportunity to adjust their forward groups as the season progresses, with Kinoshita set to bring his experience to the north, and Nahnieiev beginning the next chapter of his junior hockey career with the Kings.

The Blizzard would like to thank Renat for his contributions to the organization and wish him the best of luck in Dauphin.

Kinoshita is expected to join the Blizzard on Tuesday as the team prepares for its second matchup against the Winkler Flyers. He will also join the organization ahead of the Northern Manitoba Blizzard Impact Tour, which begins Sunday, as the team continues its commitment to hockey development and community engagement throughout the region.
