The Blizzard would like to congratulate ’03 forward, Riley See , on his commitment to continue his hockey and academic career at Fredonia State University (NCAA DIII) in Fredonia, New York.
See is a Sherwood Park, Alberta product who came to The Blizzard for the 2023/24 season. In his lone season with The Blizzard, See played in 57 games, notching 23 goals and 21 assists. In playoffs, the left-handed centerman had 3 goals and 5 assists in 14 games. Riley is a two-way centerman, who plays a strong game on both ends of the ice. He is a relentless blue collar type of player that helped The Blizzard in all situations, whether it was 5 on 5, powerplay and penalty kill. He will bring to Fredonia State Blue Devils an unmatched work ethic along with his great skating ability, leadership and ability to be good in all aspects of the game.
“I’m very happy for Riley, he’s worked extremely hard and gone through a lot of adversity in his first few seasons as a Junior A player. Riley and I had a great chat last summer before he joined the Blizzard, and we both agreed that if he came to us, he would be able to take on a bigger role and grow into the player he now is. I saw a lot of potential in him that I thought was not being exploited in his previous teams. I told him if he could finish his Junior A career with a solid season and put up some numbers as well as keep being the great defensive forward he already was, that his commitment to NCAA hockey should take care of itself. He stepped in and did exactly that for our organization and more. At numerous times this season, Riley scored game winning goals in very important moments. The most notable one being his game winner in triple overtime in game 7 versus Dauphin. He deserves this great opportunity, Fredonia is definitely getting a great player and an even better person. He’s the type of player every coach would want on their team, he’s easy to coach and cares a lot about his teammates.”
