Open Your Home. Build a Lasting Connection. Become a NorMan Blizzard Billet Family!
The Northern Manitoba Blizzard are looking for welcoming, caring families to become billet hosts for our players (ages 16–20) from across Canada and the United States for the upcoming hockey season.
For many of our players, leaving home to chase their hockey dreams is an exciting opportunity—but it also means being away from family, friends, and everything familiar. That’s where our billet families become invaluable.
As a billet family, you’ll provide more than just a bedroom and meals—you’ll give a young athlete a safe, supportive place to call home. Your encouragement, kindness, and everyday support help shape not only their hockey career, but also their personal growth.
Many of our billet families say the experience is one of the most rewarding things they’ve ever done, with friendships and family-like bonds that last long after the final buzzer.
What You’ll Receive
- $600 per month in billet compensation
- One season ticket to all NorMan Blizzard home games
- The opportunity to make a meaningful difference in a young athlete’s life while becoming part of the Blizzard family
Season Information
Players arrive for training camp in late August and stay through the end of the season, typically mid-March to mid-May, depending on playoff success.
Most players return home to spend Christmas with their families before rejoining the team after the holidays.
Whether you host a player for one season or several, your support helps create the environment they need to thrive—both on and off the ice.
Join the Blizzard Family!
If you’ve ever thought about making a difference in a young person’s life while becoming part of something bigger than hockey, we’d love to welcome you to the Northern Manitoba Blizzard family.
