OILERS ADD JOEL JACKSON AS ASSISTANT STRENGTH AND CONDITIONING COACH
The Edmonton Oilers today announced that OCN Blizzard Alumni, Joel Jackson has been named Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach. Joel played 89 games for the Blizzard in 2004-2006.
Jackson joins the Oilers from the University of Alberta where he has served as a Performance Coach since 2015 working with Golden Bears and Pandas hockey teams as well as wrestling, golf, swimming
and men’s volleyball teams.
A native of Snow Lake, Manitoba, he earned a Bachelor of Kinesiology at Augustana University in Camrose, Alberta and played hockey for the Vikings from 2006 to 2011 before enrolling at the University of Alberta to pursue a master’s degree. Working exclusively with the Bears and Pandas hockey teams as Strength and Conditioning Coach in 2012, Jackson moved into to the full-time role of Performance Coach following graduation.
